"Showing you the way"
Researching your family history can be absorbing, fascinating, endlessly surprising ... or, alternatively, frustrating, expensive and confusing. Would you like some help to do it better yourself?
"How can I find them?"
So many record sites out there, so many different ways of trying to find what you hope survives for your family. Don't despair if you cannot find your kin, they may just be very well hidden and we can help you learn how to search smarter for them online.
"Where should I put them?"
Programs like Family Tree Maker and RootsMagic can be great for organising what you have found but it may not always be obvious how to structure your evidence well. We can help with guidance on how to get more from your chosen software. Doing this well can even help you work out what to do next.
"What's the plan?"
The best tool for great family research is often not a keyboard, but a stout pair of shoes! We can help you plan for research trips and holidays by identifying archives, showing you how to interrogate their catalogues and make a plan for how to be thorough when you visit. If you just want more guidance on how to get the most from online resources, we can point you in the right directions with a plan for doing this too.
"What am I missing?"
Clues can be hidden in all sorts of family heirlooms. For example, tracking down photographers in censuses and trade directories can help narrow down time periods in which family photographs were taken. We can help with personal or group tutoring on specific genealogical topics like this.
